Owner / ArtistWith 17 years of experience in the tattoo industry, JP is a self-taught artist who built his career through dedication, consistency, and a passion for the craft. He opened his first tattoo shop during the COVID pandemic, turning a challenging time into an opportunity to grow and create.
Today, JP is the co-owner of Batik Ink, where he continues to push his artistry while helping build a strong creative community. Along the way, he mentored Kat, who has grown into an exceptional artist and became his business partner in 2023. For JP, tattooing has always been about more than ink…it’s about constantly evolving, sharing knowledge, and creating meaningful work that lasts a lifetime.

Kat McCarthy
After graduating from the Fashion Business Industry program from George Brown College, Kat pursued a career in the fashion e-commerce space. After spending some time in the fashion industry, she felt she needed a job that allowed more creativity and flexibility. A few years later, while getting a tattoo, her artist offered to teach her the art of tattooing after hearing about her art and design background. Immediately, Kat fell in love with the art and pursued tattooing where she met JP, who mentored her and eventually became her business partner.
It’s been almost five years since Kat started her tattoo journey, and it was the best decision she’s ever made. Her specialty style is delicate fine line, florals, custom script and realism.

Paige Owen
Paige has been tattooing for 4 years and specializes in realism, micro realism, and fine line tattoos. Her focus is on working closely with clients to create a comfortable and welcoming experience while producing detailed tattoos that complement the body’s natural flow.
Before becoming a tattoo artist, Paige studied business and worked as a server, experiences that heavily influenced her work ethic and approach to client care.
Outside of tattooing, Paige enjoys spending time in the gym, travelling, and trying new hobbies. She believes tattoos are a beautiful way to express yourself, commemorate meaningful moments, and decorate your body with artwork that reflects who you are.
Whether you’re looking for a small, delicate tattoo or a full sleeve, Paige takes pride in every piece she creates and strives to provide her clients with tattoos they’ll love for years to come.

Sam suarez
Sam has always had a passion for art and drawing since she was a kid but mainly did it as a hobby. After graduating college she worked at a gym where she would often draw in her sketchbook on her free time. Gym members and coworkers encouraged her to pursue tattooing. Eventually she met Jp who became her mentor and she realized that tattooing brought out a passion she loved to share with others.
Sam specializes in black/grey illustrative, realism, fineline and custom tattoos. The most rewarding part about her job is seeing clients reactions after creating meaningful pieces especially Christian-inspired, clients pets, and memorial tattoos.
Outside of tattooing, Sam loves working out, sketching outdoors, cooking new recipes, raves, spending time with her pets, friends, and family.

Chloë specializes in illustrative, neo traditional, and colour painterly tattoos with a dark feminine edge. Her work is rooted in witchy and spiritual themes, but softened by a love of delicate florals and fine detail. She believes femininity holds both gentleness and strength, and that tension is at the heart of everything she creates.

Bailey has been tattooing for five years and is completely self-taught. He specializes in black and grey realism and fine line work, combining technical precision with a lifelong passion for art. Growing up, he was always drawing and creating, with both of his parents playing a major role in shaping his artistic abilities. Bailey has been proudly tattooing at Batik Ink since the beginning of 2026.

Teddy has been drawn to art for as long as she can remember. Growing up, she spent her time painting, sculpting, drawing, and writing constantly looking for new ways to create and express ideas. Those early experiences shaped the way she sees the world and built the foundation for her career as a tattoo artist.
Today, she brings those same artistic principles into every piece she creates. Whether it’s fine-line illustration, ornamental design, custom script, or cyber sigilism, her goal is to create tattoos that are unique, meaningful, and built to last. Tattooing allows her to combine everything she loves about art while creating something deeply personal for each client.
This craft is more than a career to her - it’s a passion. She couldn’t imagine doing anything else.
